The Origin of the Maui Jim Brand

In the 1980s, the small company Maui Jim began its operations by selling sunglasses on the Ka'anapali Beach in Lahaina, on the island of Maui, Hawaii.

In this archipelago, where the sun is particularly intense and UV rays are very harmful, the company developed a revolutionary glass technology: PolarizedPlus2. This technology protects the eyes from intense glare while revealing more of the stunning colors unique to the islands!

At its inception, the Classic collection had only 7 models. Today, over 125 models of sunglasses, all polarized and utilizing Maui's high technology, have emerged from the company's historic headquarters located in Lahaina on the island of Maui.

In 2022, Maui Jim joined Kering Eyewear, a part of the international Luxury group Kering. The brand still maintains its strong and distinct identity from its origin.
